The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past is the third game in the Legend of Zelda series, and is the only Zelda game for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System. It's Japanese name is ゼルダの伝説 神々のトライフォース (The Legend of Zelda: Triforce of the Gods). It was released on November 21, 1991 in Japan; April 13, 1992 in North America; and September 24, 1992 in Europe. It was praised for its graphics and gameplay upon release, and it introduced many elements that became staples for the Zelda franchise.
At the age of six, A Link to the Past was one of the first games I ever played, and was my introduction to the Zelda franchise. I have fond memories of me, my brother, and my dad gathered around the TV in the afternoon, working together to beat the game.
Since then I've completed the game dozens of times, and to this day it's one of my favorite games of all time. It's gotten to the point that I've memorized just about everything there is to know about it, and I have fact, comment, or story for just about every screen in the game.
I made this site as a way to get down all my highly specific knowledge of this game in one place, and potenially share it with other people.
In addition to the SNES, A Link to the Past can be played on the SNES Classic Edition and through Nintendo Switch Online. The game can also be played on Gameboy Advanced or DS with the GBA port (although, this port has a
few changes, which I will note in my walkthrough.)
